Parish Responsibilities

Parish Council responsibilities: -

  • Allotments
    Ashurst & Colbury allotments are administered by Totton & Eling Town Council.
    Totton & Eling Clerk's number is 023 8086 3138
  • Provision and Maintenance of Playing Fields
    The Recreation Ground (and other Sports Facilities)
  • Provision and Maintenance of Seats, and Bus Shelters
  • Some notice boards within the Parish
  • Litter Bins
    These are currently covered by New Forest District Council

 

The following are not applicable at present in Ashurst & Colbury:-

  • Burial Grounds (dual function)
  • Maintenance of War Memorials
  • Provision and Maintenance of Community Centres and Village Halls
  • Provision and Maintenance of Public Lavatories
  • Provision and Maintenance of Village Greens and Closed Churchyards
  • Some Off-street Car Parks

 

A reminder to all groups and organizations that operate for the benefit of Ashurst & Colbury residents (e.g. Scouts, Guides, etc.) that the Parish Council operates a grants system.

 

Applications for a grant for a specific project or help with running costs can be made to the Council, via the Clerk : -
